Investing in Impact
with Wan Dazriq
We met up with Daz way back in November 2023 in our early days of The ESP. Our meeting place was a cafe in central Kualua Lampur Malaysia in the world famous Petronas Towers. Now, other than our rookie error of meeting up and recording in a noisy cafe, Daz’s story is a fascinating one that is worthy of being part of our early stage idea of a story theme called The Squiggle.
Daz started in the corporate sector and wound up in the social innovation and social entrepreneurship space through a variety of twists and turns taking him from corporate work to government work to work with NGOs and ultimately into the socially conscious investing space. All along he continues to ask how business can be a force for more than just profit...how can it have meaning beyond money. No wonder that we found him through the Acumen Academy where he was part of the foundry.
Daz is an experienced tender of the ecosystems in which he operates. We were intrigued and inspired by his work. And his path has been a squiggle!
